Bridal Hair & The Weather

Posted on August 28, 2009 at 10:26 AM

Come end of summer into fall, the weather can be so unpredictable!  Here are some ideas for hairstyles that will keep you looking your bridal best...no matter what the weatherman says the forecast will be.

Humid, Hot, Hazy, Foggy, Windy, Rainy:  A simple pulled back style will hold best, either a high ponytail with some height at the crown or a smart chic chignon.  Product is essential! Keep your style in place using Super Strength Finishing Spray.  We like Redken or Kenra.

Breezy, Sunny, Cloudy, Overcast:  You can opt for a few styles here. Long and loose curls will work well, just make sure a taming lotion is used.  The use of a curling iron and a thermal spray will keep curls and waves looking bouncy and fresh.  Half up/half down will also work well. Curl all hair and pin some pieces up to give a tousled updo with texture.  Sleek & straight will work best when special care is given in the blow dry stage.  Here, a volumizing product is key applying from roots to end. Next a flat iron should be used in small sections and finished off with a glossing spray and firm hold hair spray.

Photo Finish

What bride does not want to look good in her photos???  PHOTOS are what last a lifetime!! Here are some tips and tricks that will make you look picture perfect!

Hire a pro to do your wedding make-up to ensure a flawless face.

Start with clean, moisturized skin! Moisturize your skin every day morning and night to condition your skin and keep it hydrated and looking soft and resiliant.

Foundation. There are so many types these days, find the one that works for you and on how much coverage you are looking for.  A tinted moisturizer (great for a sunkissed look), minerals, liquid or cream.

RELAX! When you are relaxed you will look glowing in your photos!! Stress adds to frown lines both around the mouth and eyes, who wants to see that in pictures!

Bridal Beauty Question & Answer

Posted on August 6, 2009 at 12:11 PM

We get lots of brides that ask us questions pertaining to their wedding day beauty.  Questions about hair, make-up, timetables, getting ready on the big day, and so on. Sohere is where we will post some of our most popular questions and answers!

Q.When should I have my trial done for my make-up and hair?

A. Your trial for hair should be done after you have your headpiece and veil. That way, you will see how the headpiece fits and how it works with the veil and how your hairstyles looks with both.

Your make-up should be done with your hair trial, which should be done a few weeks prior to your wedding.

Remember...all eyes are on the Bride....

Beautiful dress, stunning hair...dry and flakey skin????

Truth be told, if you want your skin to look beautiful and radiant on your wedding day, it starts with your skincare routine. Yes, the canvass has to be flawless and your skincare routine will get you on your way.

Is your dress strapless? Backless? It is imperative to make sure that you are paying attention to what kind of soaps and moisturizers you are using on your body as well. So many are worried about being tan.  Smooth and sexy skin is also key!  Include exfoliation and hydration into your daily routine and in 1 month your skin will be thanking you!! And so will your future husband :)
